PLAY-OFF FINAL PREVIEW | Charlton v Leyton Orient

'

The Addicks head to Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon to take on Leyton Orient in the Sky Bet League One play-off final (KO 1.01pm BST).

Nathan Jones’ side head into the winner-takes-all clash having prevailed over two legs against Wycombe Wanderers thanks to Matty Godden's strike at The Valley last Thursday.

The Addicks will once again be backed by a sold-out following, with just shy of 40,000 supporters making the trip across the capital.

TEAM NEWS

Asked for an update on Luke Berry, who missed the second leg against the Chairboys, the gaffer said: "He's closer, so we'll just have to see."

The O's will be without Theo Archibald (knee) and Jordan Graham (knee) this weekend.

THE OPPOSITION

Richie Wellens’ side sealed their play-off berth on the final day of the regular season with a 4-1 win at Huddersfield Town, their sixth successive victory.

Orient ensured their spot at Wembley with a penalty shootout triumph over third-placed Stockport County at Edgeley Park last Wednesday following a 3-3 draw on aggregate.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Sunday will mark the 58th meeting between the two sides, with the Addicks winning 25, the O’s 21 and the remaining 11 meetings resulting in draws.

Charlton claimed a dramatic 2-1 win at Brisbane Road when the teams last met in March, with Macaulay Gillesphey and Kayne Ramsay both scoring in second-half stoppage time.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Andrew Kitchen will oversee proceedings this weekend.

Kitchen will be assisted by Blake Antrobus and Shaun Hudson, while David Webb has been named as the Fourth Official.

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will be used on Sunday having come into place since the 2022/23 play-off finals. Michael Salisbury will be the VAR, assisted by Nick Hopton.

COLOURS

The Addicks will be sporting their red home kit, while the O's will be wearing their grey away strip.
